Washington Cares

Architectural Ceramics' CEO, Betty Sullivan, founded Washington Cares in 2005 to provide disaster relief for Hurricane Katrina victims. During this relief effort we assisted over 400 dispersed people in finding new jobs and housing in the DC Metro Area. Our desire is to help in emergency situations with assistance that includes clothing, first aid kits, food, water, blankets and cleaning supplies. Washington Cares is a non-profit, 100% volunteer based supported by donations and Architectural Ceramics. Washington Cares is a faith based organization that delights in serving the community just as our Savior served. Betty Sullivan President and CEO

Betty Sullivan is the matriarch of Architectural Ceramics. Betty has been a key leader for Architectural Ceramics since 2001. Under Betty’s leadership AC has increased revenues sevenfold! In the mid 1990’s, Betty was the president of an Intellectual Property Licensing firm where she partnered with major corporations to provide patent licensing, mastered negotiating skills, and managed high powered patent attorneys. Prior to her work with patent licensing she had retail experience with United Colors of Benneton and L&L Bakeries opening stores and streamlining production.

David Benson Vice President of Sales

David Benson


David has worked with AC for over 20 years and oversees the company as President. At the age of 15 he started making deliveries for the family business. He worked with the business part-time, along with his 6 sisters, in various facets throughout his teenage years and college. After receiving a bachelor’s degree from The George Washington University, David jumped right into full time sales with the company - eventually overseeing the showrooms as VP of Sales in 2013. Over the past 10, years David has personally sold more than $5,000,000 in sales while managing the residential sales division of AC. His team has grown from 20 people to more than 40.

David loves to spend time with his wife and kids, and coaches their soccer teams.

David holds a CCTS (Certified Ceramic Tile Salesperson), has served on the National Kitchen and Bath Association Board and participated in the Entrepreneur’s Organization, NARI, NKBA, NVBIA, NAHB and ASID throughout the years.


Kersi Press

Territory Manager

Before joining AC Kersi studied Architecture at Lehigh University and begun his career working at the Baltimore based firm CSD. At CSD Kersi worked on both Senior Living and Public works projects. It was here that he discovered his interest in building materials and architectural products.

Kersi got his feet wet in sales at another tile distributor where he begun to develop his passion for tile. As a former architect, Kersi understands not only the design process, but also the challenges designers face when working on commercial projects.This experience helps him better understand the needs and expectations of his customers. Kersi joined the AC team in 2008 to start the AC’s commercial division in Baltimore and has since grown this department to include a showroom and several sales people.

Kersi had been involved with large projects in Baltimore and around the country. Some of these projects include buildings at University of Virginia, Emory University, The Rivergate Apartments in Manhattan and many more. In his 11 years at AC Kersi has been a leader in sales, repeatedly breaking sales records in the commercial department, while helping guide and contribute to the vision and future of AC.
