About Us

Architectural Ceramics deemed “where the architects and designers shop” by Washingtonian Magazine is a comprehensive tile and stone company servicing the design industry, including, but not limited to, the homeowner, designer, builder, contractor, architect and installer. Established in 1983, Architectural Ceramics is a family-owned and operated corporation. ACI has six convenient locations in the Greater Washington Metropolitan Area: Maryland: Baltimore, Bethesda, Rockville and Virginia: Alexandria, Chantilly, Falls Church. ACI has a worldwide assortment of ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, slate, marble, limestone, glass and metal tiles, with an extensive supply on hand, ready for pickup or to ship from our Rockville, MD and Chantilly, VA warehouses. In addition, Architectural Ceramics has over 30 specialty vendors which can be special ordered for your project.

Our employees take great pride in their expertise and enjoy working with clients through every stage of their projects to ensure the creation and fulfillment of a unique and striking space. Each design consultant is highly trained in both the tile industry and in the design process. Betty Sullivan

President and CEO

Betty Sullivan is the matriarch of Architectural Ceramics. Betty has been a key leader for Architectural Ceramics since 2001. Under Betty’s leadership ACI has increased revenues sevenfold! In the mid 1990’s, Betty was the president of an Intellectual Property Licensing firm where she partnered with major corporations to provide patent licensing, mastered negotiating skills, and managed high powered patent attorneys. Prior to her work with patent licensing she had retail experience with United Colors of Benneton and L&L Bakeries opening stores and streamlining production.

David Benson

Vice President, Sales

David has worked with ACI for over 15 years and oversees the Sales Division. At the age of 15 he started making deliveries for the family business. He worked with the business part-time in various facets throughout his teenage years and college. After receiving a bachelor’s degree from The George Washington University, David jumped right into full time sales with the company. Over the past 5 years David has personally sold over $5,000,000 in sales while managing the residential sales division of ACI.

David holds a CCTS (Certified Ceramic Tile Salesperson), has served on the National Kitchen and Bath Association Board and is currently an active member of the Entrepreneur’s Organization, NARI, NKBA, NVBIA, NAHB and ASID.        

      Toni Parsons

Toni has worked with ACI for over 10 years, most recently as Chief Financial Officer and prior to that heading up financial reporting and planning.  Prior to joining ACI she was VP Finance of an SEC Registrant and a senior manager at KPMG.  Toni was a licensed CPA in Virginia for many years.

Christina Ginn

Vice President, Product, Marketing and IT (Principal)

Christina Ginn manages Architectural Ceramics marketing, product, and information technology group. Prior to working at ACI, Christina worked for Lockheed Martin as a lead engineer on million dollar programs managing budgets, staff, and assets. She has had years of leadership training and process improvement training (Six Sigma Black Belt Certification).

Christina has a Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from George Washington University and a Masters of Science in Systems Engineering from Cornell University. Christina’s first job was working at Architectural Ceramics at 12 years old doing mailings for her parents (Betty & Larry Sullivan), so she knows the ins /outs of ACI.

Before joining ACI Kersi studied Architecture at Lehigh University and begun his career working at the Baltimore based firm CSD. At CSD Kersi worked on both Senior Living and Public works projects. It was here that he discovered his interest in building materials and architectural products.

Kersi got his feet wet in sales at another tile distributor where he begun to develop his passion for tile. As a former architect, Kersi understands not only the design process, but also the challenges designers face when working on commercial projects.This experience helps him better understand the needs and expectations of his customers. Kersi joined the ACI team in 2008 to start the ACI’s commercial division in Baltimore and has since grown this department to include a showroom and several sales people.

Kersi had been involved with large projects in Baltimore and around the country. Some of these projects include buildings at University of Virginia, Emory University, The Rivergate Apartments in Manhattan and many more. In his 5 years at ACI Kersi has been a leader in sales, repeatedly breaking sales records in the commercial department, while helping guide and contribute to the vision and future of ACI.
